About Me



City Julep is a southern girl cooking in a citified world. Born and raised in the hills of Tennessee, I chased my dreams in the big city only to realize the country is where my heart belongs.

Home cooking is and always will be my language of love. I believe that food really is something to connect to our past, present, and future. I was raised on garden fresh vegetables and family dinners, which doesn’t always fit into my real world schedule.

My beliefs that pie crust should be homemade, women should wear pearls, and my daddy is always perfect will always be a part of me, but times are a changing and I do believe that using a box cake mix doesn’t make me a sinner. 

Thank you for taking the time to read my recipes, they really are from my heart. Who knows where my journey of being a City Julep will take me, I pray the road is long, and that I remember to take it one step at a time…
